Resources for Decluttering, Donating & Staying Organized
We believe that an organized life is making thoughtful decisions about what you keep, how you live with it, and where the rest goes. To support your decluttering and organizing projects, we have curated a selection of resources for recycling, donation, and ongoing organizing inspiration.
Recycling & Donation Resources
The State of Massachusetts offers a comprehensive collection of donation and recycling resources, including tools to help you determine how and where to responsibly recycle common household items.

A Few Categories You Will Find in Our Resource List
Household recycling & “hard‑to‑recycle” items.
Tools like Recyclopedia help you search by item and find appropriate drop‑off or pick‑up options in your area.
Electronics and media.
National and local retailers provide in‑store and mail‑in recycling for electronics, cables, small appliances, and media; some also offer trade‑in programs.
Textiles and clothing.
Textile recycling bins at schools and retail programs turn clothing, shoes, and linens, often in any condition, into reusable materials instead of landfill waste.
Specialty items.
Select partners accept items like cosmetics packaging, batteries, light bulbs, and more at designated locations throughout Eastern Massachusetts.
Because local programs can change, we maintain our resource list as a living document and encourage clients to confirm details directly with each organization before visiting or scheduling a drop‑off.
When to Call in Professional Help
Sometimes, even with good resources, it is hard to know where to start—or how to keep going. If you are facing a full‑home reset, an upcoming relocation, or the accumulated weight of years of belongings, partnering with a professional organizer can make the process lighter, faster, and far less overwhelming.
An Organized Life can:
- Help you decide what to keep, donate, recycle, and discard.
- Coordinate donation pickups and recycling drop‑offs as part of your project.
- Design storage systems so what remains is easy to find, use, and maintain.
